Greens are convinced that the EU must lead the global fight and urgently invest more in energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. Relying on nuclear energy undermines genuine solutions to climate change.

Although some good projects have materialised in the past, the big problem of the TEN-T program is its slow progress especially in rail projects. A major lack of financing is one of the main problems of the network. If European transport policy is to seriously contribute in the fight against climate change it is crucial to reconsider the trans-European network as well as transport policy under the premise of economical, social and environmental sustainability and climate change.

E-polis is a platform for local initiatives and NGOs whose purpose is to promote sustainable development and participation of civil society in urban development processes. e-polis aims to create and establish a European-wide network of such local initiatives/NGOs in order to share experiences and find partners.

EMAS

Greens/EFA and the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme

The EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a voluntary initiative providing a management tool for companies and other organisations to evaluate, report and improve their environmental performance. The scheme has been available for participation by companies since 1995 and is since 2001 open to all economic sectors including public and private services.
