Deforestation has a serious impact on the climate, biodiversity and the livelihoods of local people. It seems therefore useful to install mechanisms that prevent deforestation. How to design these mechanisms and whether to integrate them in the international climate agreement is discussed in different fora. Shortly before climate negotiations in Copenhagen start, a inter-party conference in the European Parliament will address these issues:
Hosted by:
Kriton Arsenis (S&D),
