Olympic rights for human games: A conference on Olympic Games in China

Conference
European Parliament - Brussels

Thursday 15 May 2008 09:30-17:00

European Parliament - Room Petra Kelly ASP01G2
60, Rue Wiertz - 1047 Brussels - Belgium

PRESENTATION

For the Greens/EFA group it is crucial for the EU to speak with one voice concerning questions as sensitive as human rights in China and Tibet. The group hopes that a decision on whether or not to boycott the opening ceremony is taken unanimously, in all likelihood under the French presidency of the EU.
In order to attempt to answer a series of questions during the conference, the group has invited a number of European political figures, international experts, journalists and representatives of the International Olympic Committee.
At the start of the conference a film showing the experiences of European Olympic athletes will be shown in Room 1G2.
